Today I tried Pilates.. All I can say is WOW! I worked so many muscles at one time. I may be semi-strong at the gym.. but I am 100% not strong or flexible in a Pilates sense.
Although it was such a challenge for me mentally and physically, I absolutely LOVED it!! Thankfully we were all in good hands with the amazing Meagan Cox who coached us through the entire hour, going in to detail the muscles we were working, providing fantastic and clear instructions for the moves we were doing.
I have only just started trying new things out of my comfort zone, as I believe it is an important for self development, and I am trying to learn more to benefit myself and others. The entire hour of the class I felt at ease and confident in what I was doing, feeling this way during a class or personal training is so important!
Once I tried a body balance class at the gym and the instructor said to me during the class "you are far too young to be that un-flexible" this was in front of the entire class, I felt like a idiot with no hope and never went back because I was sooo embarrassed and discouraged. In this class not once did I feel embarrassed that I couldn't do a move, instead I was given an alternative. Everyone in the classes Meagan runs are soo supportive/ inspiring and make you feel at ease the entire time.
Thanks to Meagan Cox Personal Training for the amazing opportunities you constantly throw my way, I enjoy learning from such an experienced personal trainer who has their clients best interests at heart, and always encourages them to be better than they were yesterday.
Stay tuned for how I feel tomorrow (my core is already aching like a mofo)
UPDATE: OUCH! It hurt to sneeze..
