What does health mean to you?

What price do you put on your own health?

Time and time again I hear "it's too expensive to eat healthy" when I choose to buy something with nutritional value that yes may be a little bit more expensive than a reduced meat pie or that chocolate on special.

So 'expensive' but you can still buy a $5.00 coffee every day or takeout for the family once a week?

Eating healthy and having a balanced diet and lifestyle is a choice - I choose to eat that way, of course I still have chocolate and treats but in moderation. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

I know when I eat good I feel even better.

I make these decisions so I can live a healthier life I have struggled with my own weight before. I wasn't eating right or doing any exercise.. One day I chose to change because I didn't feel good on the inside or outside and knew there was room for improvement.

Eating healthier doesn't have to be expensive, when my boyfriend is away for work I spend between $40-60 week on food.. That even includes the fur kids food as well as the rice and veggies I make them... And I eat ALOT.

It's all about making smarter healthier choices and NOT being fooled by the packaging, stick to the basics and don't get caught up in all the bullshit marketing tactics, keep it simple.

We all have that one food we get which we crave but once the novelty has worn off and we have eaten it we feel like shit you feel sick and tired and maybe even bloated.. That's me when I have too much sugar I know my weaknesses but I also try to remember how I feel after and try to swap it for something else.

When I cook I like to make things in bulk so;

1) I can freeze leftovers
2) I am organised and don't want to go for a more "convenient" option aka takeout

I cook things like
✖️turkey mince shepherds pie
✖️slow cooked beef stew
✖️chicken soup
✖️zucchini slice

Eating healthy is only as hard as you make it, it doesn't have to be a chore - I can comfortably say I do not belong in the kitchen (I seem to nearly burn the house down every time I try to cook) but I manage and get it done because I value my health and my body and all that it has done for me.

It's time to make a change and start seeing your health and wellbeing as a priority there are so many factors in life that effect us that we don't Have control over but we do have control over what goes into our mouths, it's time to start setting an example for those around us and not see healthy and being a chore.
